Job Overview

Position Title: Senior Financial Analyst

Position Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the compilation and examination of financial information, generating both statistical and financial reports from various ledgers. This role involves conducting comprehensive analyses at both macro and micro levels to support management and senior leadership. The analyst will track, assess, and report on patient scheduling and provider productivity on a daily basis, while also assisting in the preparation and generation of financial reports and audits.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accurately forecast and report financial results on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
2. Lead the financial reporting process for all external statutory and performance reporting requirements.
3. Prepare annual operating and capital budgets for all business functions, aligning with strategic objectives, headcount, initiatives, expenses, and productivity.
4. Conduct comprehensive variance analysis, identifying trends and opportunities within the organization, and providing recommendations for necessary adjustments.
5. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, entering adjusting journal entries as directed, and recommending adjustments to maintain accurate account balances.
6. Oversee budgeting and financial reporting software applications, developing report templates, advising leaders on usage, and ensuring data accuracy.
7. Serve in a leadership role during the formulation, development, and implementation of departmental and program budgets.
8. Plan and execute ad hoc analyses to support decision-making and evaluate business initiatives.
9. Analyze and present complex analyses related to key projects and revenue-related issues.
10. Review vendor proposals using actual cost data and provide recommendations on bid responses.
11. Assist in managing position control by tracking budgeted and unbudgeted staffing approvals.
12. Review monthly labor allocation reports for accuracy and initiate necessary corrections.
13. Track and analyze daily productivity, patient scheduling, and provider assignments.
14. Prepare month-end financial statements and performance report templates.
15. Document workflows, procedures, and policies for assigned tasks.

Additional Responsibilities

1. Assist in the development and maintenance of departmental policies and procedures related to cost, accounting, budgeting, and reporting.
2. Engage in professional development through educational programs and workshops.
3. Attend meetings and participate in committees as required.
4. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Certifications: None required.

Experience: At least 3 years in healthcare, finance, or non-profit sectors.

Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of financial reporting, cost analysis, and accounting practices; proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software; excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities; ability to prioritize and organize work effectively.

Equipment Used: Personal computer and 10-key.

Working Conditions: May require occasional lifting of up to 15 lbs and occasional evening or weekend work.
