Key Responsibilities

  • Install, program, test, repair, and maintain various non-routine systems and equipment, including security, fire alarm, life safety, and building automation systems. You will serve as the primary technical support contact for customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation methods; utilize your knowledge of electronics and standard testing instruments to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Operate systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance, and identify malfunctions. Develop and write non-routine programs for systems.
  • Consistently act as "our customer's best service provider," ensuring that Convergint Technologies remains the preferred choice for service.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve unique challenges in system operation, maintenance, and warranty services.
  • Provide insights to management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, installation methods, and suggestions for product enhancements.
  • Manage the technical aspects of multiple projects with varying timelines and budgets, including programming, graphics development, start-up, certification testing, customer training, documentation, and ongoing technical support.
  • Identify potential project risks, communicate with relevant parties, and assist in developing strategies to mitigate impacts and control deviations from estimated costs and deadlines.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Operations Managers to coordinate specific projects, make recommendations on work quality and scope changes, and identify opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Utilize your technical expertise to mentor less experienced staff and supervise them in testing, tuning, and adjusting equipment for optimal performance.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to thrive under pressure; proactively address customer needs and expectations.
  • Strong technical background with experience in fire alarm systems and/or electronic security systems.
  • Proficient programming skills and a proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Solid mechanical and electrical skills, including proficiency with various hand and power tools, and the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office applications and other relevant software.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel locally to job sites regularly, with minimal overnight travel as needed.

Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience: 3-5 years in a relevant field

Preferred Experience: (not mandatory):
  • Field service experience
  • Certifications: Product-specific certifications, industry certifications, or licenses from Software House, Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, AMAG, Milestone, ONSSI, or AXIS.
