Role Summary:
The Member Services Specialist is responsible for a variety of branch functions, acting as both a member specialist and a service representative in compliance with regulatory and security standards. This role involves managing all facets of member interactions, including sales processes and transaction management. The focus is on building comprehensive relationships with both current and prospective members while promoting, explaining, and cross-selling our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve or surpass all financial targets related to personal and branch team objectives. Engage with members by adhering to established interaction strategies to cultivate new relationships, retain existing members, and deliver exceptional service experiences.
  • Encourage members to utilize automated transaction methods by providing guidance on alternative banking channels. If automation is not feasible or preferred, process deposits, payments, and other transactions manually according to established protocols.
  • Manage member account servicing and resolve issues promptly and effectively, ensuring the highest level of service. Identify cross-selling opportunities and refer members to specialists as necessary.
  • Comply with operational risk controls and regulatory standards as outlined by the Credit Union. Execute operational tasks as assigned by management.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the Credit Union's systems to provide top-tier service to members.
  • Support member specialists with transactions and daily branch operations.
  • Assist in training branch staff in accordance with established operational protocols. Facilitate loan processing, including home equity loans.
  • May serve as the opening and closing employee for the branch.
  • Represent the Credit Union by participating in community and industry events, promoting interest in our services whenever possible.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
  • Achieve full certification as a Universal Banker.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a vibrant, outgoing personality are essential for delivering excellent member service and sales performance.
  • Knowledge of financial institution operations and procedures is required, along with an understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Analytical skills are necessary for reviewing data from business partners.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal teams, demonstrating a solid understanding of business functions.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, are required to interact with all levels of management and staff.
