The Senior Accounting Specialist plays a vital role in managing financial documentation, generating financial statements, and ensuring adherence to accounting regulations. This position is essential for the financial integrity of the organization, encompassing responsibilities such as ledger management, financial disclosures, and compliance with established internal controls.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring precision and thoroughness.
- Prepare and record journal entries for various financial activities, including accruals, prepayments, and payroll transactions.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of bank accounts and other significant balance sheet items.
- Identify and rectify discrepancies promptly.
- Manage accounts payable processes efficiently.
- Address vendor inquiries related to financial transactions.
- Maintain systematic and accurate financial records and documentation.
- Provide support to the accounting team and collaborate with other departments as necessary.
- Assist with special projects and perform ad hoc financial analyses as required.
- Prepare documentation for external audit processes.
- Process accounts payable transactions accurately.
- Code payables for various divisions, including Wholesale and E-commerce.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is mandatory.
- CPA or equivalent certification is advantageous.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and interpersonal abilities; capable of working independently and efficiently under deadlines.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and resolve issues.
- Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and technologies.
- May require occasional overtime during peak periods or to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail is essential.
