The Universal Banker is responsible for a range of branch functions, acting as both a member specialist and a service representative in compliance with regulatory and security protocols. This role encompasses all facets of member engagement, including sales processes and transaction management. The focus is on cultivating comprehensive relationships with both existing and potential members, while promoting, explaining, and cross-selling our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve or surpass all financial targets related to personal and branch team objectives. Engage with members through established interaction strategies to build new relationships, retain existing ones, and deliver exceptional service experiences.
  • Encourage members to utilize automated transaction options by providing guidance on alternative banking channels. When automation is not feasible or preferred, process deposits, payments, and other transactions manually in accordance with established procedures.
  • Manage member account servicing and resolve issues promptly and effectively, ensuring the highest level of service. Identify cross-selling opportunities and refer members to specialists as necessary.
  • Comply with operational risk controls and regulatory standards as set by the Credit Union. Execute operational tasks as assigned by management.
  • Develop proficiency in the Credit Union's systems to provide top-tier service to members.
  • Support member specialists with transactions and daily branch operations.
  • Assist in training branch staff in line with operational protocols established by the Credit Union. Process loans, including home equity loans.
  • May serve as the opening and closing employee for the branch.
  • Represent the Credit Union by participating in community and industry-related events, promoting interest in our services whenever possible.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
  • Achieve full Universal Banker certification.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a vibrant, outgoing personality, leading to exceptional member service and sales capabilities.
  • Knowledge of financial institution operations and procedures, along with a working understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Ability to apply analytical skills to assess data from business partners.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively with internal teams, demonstrating a solid understanding of business functions.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to engage with all levels of management and staff.
