Position Overview

This role encompasses a territory that includes several key states. The preferred candidate will reside in a metropolitan area with convenient access to major transportation hubs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison with significant healthcare facilities and physician practices that provide specialized care for individuals with specific medical conditions.
  • Establish, nurture, and oversee vital account relationships with physician groups, including procurement and practice management teams within large healthcare organizations.
  • Build and sustain effective collaborations with key strategic partners and stakeholders across the region. Ensure transparent and timely communication with management, brand leaders, and both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work in conjunction with Market Access, Marketing, and Legal departments to formulate pricing, rebate, and contract strategies for regional and national accounts as needed.
  • Conduct comprehensive Business Reviews with targeted key accounts to enhance product utilization and optimize offerings.
  • Collaborate closely with Medical Affairs and Marketing to foster relationships with Key Opinion Leaders. Deliver product presentations to healthcare professionals and organize educational sessions.
  • Engage in industry trade shows and other relevant events as required.
  • Develop a regional Plan of Action (POA) and contribute to the implementation of brand strategies, focusing on product integration, prescriber identification, and champion development. Formulate and execute a Key Account Management strategy aligned with territory account plans to meet product access and launch goals.
  • Work alongside the Market Access team to secure optimal access for assigned products within targeted accounts and territories.
  • Prioritize customer satisfaction by actively identifying and addressing the needs of both internal and external clients through relationship building and innovative solutions.
  • Participate in community-oriented events such as fundraising activities and regional social gatherings.
  • Maintain precise account information in CRM systems and prepare quarterly strategic reviews and performance reports.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and provide competitive intelligence and feedback on market opportunities.
  • Engage in additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Life Sciences is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences sectors, with at least 5 years in Key Account Management.
  • A strong understanding of the healthcare product procurement and administration processes, including formulary establishment and reimbursement policies for specialty products.
  • Familiarity with FDA and PhRMA promotional standards, as well as compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of reimbursement and access challenges in healthcare is essential; understanding of pharmaceutical strategies for private payers is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills are required.
  • Previous experience in dermatology or neurology specialties is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel overnight as needed, up to 60-70% of the time.
  • Experience in a startup environment is preferred.
  • Experience in rare disease management is a plus.
