Responsibilities
The Patient Registration Specialist plays a crucial role in facilitating a seamless patient experience during the registration phase. This position requires a strong focus on customer service and attention to detail to ensure accurate information is collected.

Key responsibilities include:
  • a) Verifying patient identity and collecting essential demographic information.
  • b) Obtaining and confirming insurance details and eligibility.
  • c) Assessing and collecting patient financial responsibilities.
  • d) Guiding patients to the appropriate resources for financial counseling when necessary.
  • e) Serving as a knowledgeable resource for patients and their families regarding hospital policies and patient rights.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
+ At least one (1) year of experience in a healthcare registration environment, insurance company, or related revenue cycle role.
+ Relevant education or training may be considered in lieu of experience.
+ High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Preferred Requirements:
+ Two (2) years of experience in a similar role within a healthcare setting.
+ Familiarity with charity care programs and various government and non-government assistance programs.
Special Skills:
+ Comprehensive understanding of insurance policies and procedures.
+ Proficient in medical terminology.
+ Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations for payment processing.
+ Experience in managing financial transactions and payments.
+ Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency.
Pay Range
$28.75/hour
