Key Responsibilities:
The incumbent will act as the initial point of contact for patients visiting the ambulatory clinics. This role involves performing essential clerical and reception tasks, entering patient information into the registration system, and confirming insurance and/or third-party coverage. The individual will also manage the scheduling, confirmation, and cancellation of patient appointments while employing a collaborative approach to patient care services.

Required Qualifications:

- Availability to work weekends and holidays.
- Experience with office equipment, including printers, copiers, faxes, and scanners.
- Proficiency in using a multi-line telephone system.

- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Flexibility to work variable shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to perform basic calculations and maintain an appropriate work pace.
- Capacity to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the Health System.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a standardized assessment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Familiarity with insurance programs and government initiatives.
- Experience with TDS, Signature, and IDX systems.
- Background in registration, scheduling, or authorization processes.
- Experience in a hospital or medical office environment.
- All final candidates must successfully complete an FBI fingerprinting process in compliance with the University's cash handling policy.
