Maintenance Supervisor Job Description

Job Summary:

Hendrickson USA, L.L.C. is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our plant maintenance team, ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a safety culture within the department and across the facility, identifying and addressing safety concerns proactively.
  • Supervise periodic and incidental machine maintenance to ensure completion in a safe, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Supervise direct reports' activities, including work rules, safety programs, attendance, and discipline, establishing and promoting a participative environment and proactive union avoidance program.
  • Oversee completion of preventative maintenance schedules according to equipment manufacturer's recommendations, ensuring necessary components and parts are purchased as required or directed.
  • Plan and implement corrective action in conjunction with management direction.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable standards and local, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other related degree program preferred. Equivalent experience in applicable area is acceptable.
  • 3-5 years mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting: welding, fabricating, and assembly preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting metal cutting laser/plasma and forming equipment preferred.
  • Understanding of PLC systems, familiar with Allen Bradley controls a plus.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements of OSHA, NEC, NFPA, and EPA.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to use computer applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, QAD, Kronos, others as needed.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position frequently.
  • Frequently need to move about inside office and plant designated area.
  • Minimal movement of hands, wrists, or fingers such as typing, filing, and writing.
  • Frequently need to position self to lift miscellaneous items.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.
  • Push/pull 20-40lbs of force 40 feet.

  • Work environment: office and industrial.
  • Frequent exposure to loud noises.
  • Seasonal exposure to hot and cold working areas.
  • Must be able to work in areas without climate controls at times.
