Position Overview:

Accountable for overseeing and enhancing the operations of the plant's Maintenance Division, which includes personnel, infrastructure, and machinery. A solid understanding of OSHA regulations and procedures, coupled with exceptional analytical skills, is essential for maintaining an efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a culture of safety within the department and throughout the facility. Proactively identify and resolve safety issues.
  • Manage routine and emergency machinery maintenance to ensure it is performed safely, accurately, and promptly.
  • Supervise the activities of direct reports, including adherence to work policies, safety initiatives, attendance, and disciplinary actions. Cultivate a collaborative atmosphere and a proactive approach to union relations. Enhance communication and employee engagement.
  • Ensure the timely execution of preventative maintenance plans in line with equipment manufacturers' guidelines, while overseeing the procurement of necessary components and supplies.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement corrective actions.
  • Guarantee compliance with all relevant standards and local, state, and federal regulations.
Education and Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience in a relevant area is acceptable.
Required Experience:

  • 3-5 years of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.

Preferred Experience in Manufacturing:
Welding, fabrication, and assembly experience is advantageous.

  • Experience with troubleshooting metal cutting laser/plasma and forming machinery is preferred.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems, particularly Allen Bradley controls, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, NEC, NFPA, and EPA regulatory requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential.

Computer Proficiency:
Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, QAD, Kronos, and other necessary applications.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Frequent movement within the office and plant areas.
  • Minimal hand, wrist, or finger movements such as typing, filing, and writing.
  • Ability to lift various items as needed.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push/pull 20-40 lbs of force over a distance of 40 feet.
Work Environment:

  • Office and industrial settings.
  • Regular exposure to loud noises.
  • Seasonal exposure to hot and cold working conditions.
  • Ability to work in areas without climate control at times.
