Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the recycling facility, ensuring that all equipment is functioning properly and that production targets are met.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate a team of 6-9 employees and trustees, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are working effectively and efficiently.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and maintain the quality of the materials being processed, ensuring that they meet the required standards.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Schedule and oversee daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities to ensure that all equipment is in good working order.
  • Training and Development: Coordinate training with the Solid Waste and Recycling Manager to ensure that staff are up-to-date with the latest MRF operations and safety procedures.
  • Communication: Maintain positive communication with internal and external clients, ensuring that their needs are met and that they are satisfied with the services provided.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve any operational issues that may arise, working closely with the team to find solutions.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Three years of experience in recycling operations, including one year of supervisory experience.
  • Skills: Ability to inspire and motivate team members, ability to perform complex and difficult tasks, high degree of attention required, computer proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google.
