Note: Our fleet operates exclusively with manual transmission vehicles.

***THIS POSITION REQUIRES EVENING SHIFTS****

The Schwebel Baking Company is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Class A Truck Operator.
All drivers enjoy daily home time and operate on local routes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport and deliver a complete range of Schwebel's baked goods along designated routes.
  • Unload products using appropriate delivery equipment and verify deliveries with company representatives or customers.
  • Return empty company equipment as required.
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and safety checks on the vehicle before starting the route.
  • Complete routine vehicle condition reports for trucks and trailers.
  • Report any issues or concerns encountered during deliveries to the Distribution Manager or Supervisor.
  • Provide courteous, prompt, and professional service to customers at all times.
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned, including handling mailbags.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and smoke-free interior of the truck.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Possession of a valid Class A Commercial Driver License and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • A minimum of 2 years of driving experience with a CDL and a verifiable safety record is preferred.
  • Compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Federal Motor Carrier guidelines.
  • Basic math skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, including snow and ice.
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, stretch, climb in and out of trucks, push, pull, and reach regularly.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
