Geotechnical Engineering Manager

Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Manager to oversee our Building & Construction division.

Intertek-PSI is a prominent provider of assurance, testing, inspection, and consulting services in the civil and commercial construction sectors. Our extensive offerings encompass construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, industrial hygiene, and specialized testing. Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify proposal opportunities and deliver comprehensive qualifications, pricing, and estimates to clients.
  • Conduct site visits to determine boring locations and assess site conditions.
  • Manage project budgets effectively to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Process soil samples for detailed analysis.
  • Lead and execute geotechnical project assignments, including engineering analysis, report generation, field exploration, and laboratory services.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects.
  • Perform on-site observations, sample collection, and specific tests related to geotechnical investigations.
  • Participate in project site meetings.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients via phone and email.
Qualifications for Success:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline.

• 1 to 5 years of relevant experience preferred; however, entry-level candidates will receive training.

• Daily office attendance is required during standard business hours.

• Ability to work in a hybrid environment, balancing office duties with fieldwork, with the majority of time spent in an office setting.

Physical Requirements:
  • Capability to lift, move, push, and pull weights between 30 to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and discern sounds.
  • Occasional kneeling and squatting may be required.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
