About the Role

The George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs is seeking a highly skilled Editorial Associate to join our team. As a key member of our publication team, you will play a crucial role in the editing and publication process for our journal, The Washington Quarterly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Edit and Proofread Manuscripts: Ensure consistency with GW style guidelines and the Chicago Manual of Style.
  • Support the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief: Collaborate to produce the online and print publication.
  • Manage Website and Social Media: Oversee TWQ's website on GW Blogs (WordPress) and manage social media accounts, including X and Facebook.
  • Create Visual Content: Design simple graphics for the journal's cover and website using Adobe InDesign.
  • Perform Other Related Duties: Assist with expense reports, honoraria payments, marketing, and university events.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED plus 3 years of relevant professional experience or a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study.
  • Experience with editing long-form content and proofreading is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of or experience with Chicago Manual of Style is ideal.
  • International Relations experience is preferred.
