Internship Program Details:

  • Application Deadline: August 25th

Internship Responsibilities

As a news intern at Telemundo 44, you will gain hands-on experience across various facets of our news department in a structured and guided setting. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging in the daily editorial workflow: planning, researching, gathering news, logging, writing, and editing.
  • Accompanying reporters and crews to gain insights into the editorial and technical processes of news gathering.
  • Shadowing producers and assignment editors to understand their roles.
  • Creating individual news segments for your portfolio and online platforms.
  • Participating in studio anchor sessions.
  • Attending informational sessions and discussions with NBC4 professionals.
  • Assisting with daily administrative tasks and supporting the assignment desk.
  • Developing unique project opportunities tailored to your interests.
Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Graduate degree at an accredited institution.
  • Must have completed at least 30 credits and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.
  • Availability to work on-site.

Preferred Skills:

  • Background in Journalism, Broadcast Journalism, Digital Media, Communications, Marketing, or related fields.
  • Prior internship experience or active involvement in campus organizations.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Genuine interest in current events and media trends.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in research.
  • Some experience in journalism, preferably in a newsroom setting.

The hourly compensation for interns is competitive.
