In this pivotal role, you will enhance the patient journey through the Cancer Care Continuum by ensuring a seamless experience during the insurance approval process for diagnostic imaging.
Employment Type: Full-Time, 40 Hours
Location: On-site
Salary: Competitive hourly rate
Role Responsibilities:
As an Insurance Authorization Coordinator, your primary duties will include:
- Evaluating and processing medical necessity for patient treatments, ensuring compliance with reimbursement standards.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to communicate any specific requirements or limitations dictated by various insurance plans.
- Updating clinical staff on coding and payer guidelines, while also tracking treatment pathways and performing essential administrative functions.
- Securing insurance authorizations and pre-certifications for diagnostic imaging services, acting as a patient advocate to address reimbursement inquiries and prevent delays.
- Investigating alternative funding options for non-covered services to mitigate payment denials and providing patients with community resource contacts.
- Completing additional tasks as assigned to support the team and enhance patient care.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's degree in Healthcare or LPN state license is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of three years in medical insurance verification and authorization is required.
