PeaceHealth is in search of a Healthcare Access Coordinator for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The compensation for this role at PeaceHealth is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.

This position plays a crucial role in facilitating the interactions between scheduling, insurance verification, and pre-certification processes. The Healthcare Access Coordinator acts as a vital link with physician practices, ensuring seamless pre-visit services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Pre-registers and registers patients, ensuring accurate demographic and financial information is collected. Registration methods may vary based on location.
  • Handles collection of patient balances, co-payments, co-insurance, and other payment types.
  • Confirms insurance coverage and meets all necessary requirements, including obtaining prior authorizations and referrals before patient appointments.
  • Addresses inquiries from customers effectively.
  • Provides assistance with departmental coverage as required.
  • Manages daily appointment schedules, which may involve making reminder calls and contacting referrals.
  • May assist in transporting patients using appropriate equipment.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office or related customer service field is required.
  • Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A strong background in customer service may substitute for medical office experience.
  • Ability to manage conflicts in a professional manner is essential. (Required)
  • Excellent time management skills, particularly in meeting time-sensitive deadlines. (Required)
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are necessary. (Required)
