PeaceHealth is in search of a Patient Access Coordinator - Neurology for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The compensation for this role is competitive, with the hiring rate influenced by various factors such as education, experience, and applicable agreements.

Potential Hiring Bonus Available.

As a vital member of our team, you will facilitate the coordination of activities between scheduling, insurance verification, and pre-certification processes. You will serve as a clinical liaison with physician practices, ensuring seamless pre-visit services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately pre-registers and registers patients, ensuring all demographic and financial information is complete. Registration methods may vary based on location.
  • Collects patient payments, including balances, co-payments, and co-insurance.
  • Verifies insurance coverage and ensures compliance with all requirements, including obtaining prior authorizations and referrals as necessary.
  • Manages daily appointment schedules, which may involve making reminder calls and contacting referrals.
  • May assist in transporting patients using appropriate equipment.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office or related customer service role is required.
  • Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A strong background in customer service may be considered in lieu of specific medical office experience.
  • Ability to manage conflicts effectively and professionally is essential.
  • Excellent time management skills with a focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are required.
