Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Family Services Eligibility Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for determining eligibility and assisting parents eligible under the California subsidized child care programs gain access to child care programs and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determining Eligibility: Determine eligibility for subsidized child care programs and assist parents in gaining access to child care services.
  • Client Support: Provide customer service to families, providers, and internal customers, troubleshooting and providing technical assistance as needed.
  • Referral Services: Provide supportive referral services to families and providers as needed.
  • Program Integrity: Collaborate with the Fraud Prevention Unit to maintain program integrity and ensure the highest levels of quality, accuracy, and program integrity.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete transfer requests for out-of-agency transfers and transfers to other program funding sources as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in determining eligibility for family services, customer service, human services, social services, administrative/clerical support, or a related field.
  • Skills: Ability to analyze and problem solve, accuracy, and ability to produce in a timely manner. Ability to work with diverse and underserved populations.

Candidate must be fully vaccinated and remain fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Per the CDC, fully vaccinated means at least 2 weeks after a second dose in a 2-dose series, or a single-dose vaccine.
