Role Summary
Under general supervision, the Director of Residential Program Services is tasked with overseeing one or more of the Agency's residential facilities. This role encompasses managing staff, ensuring the well-being of residents, coordinating necessary maintenance, and adhering to regulatory standards. The Director is accountable for all facets of the program, including personnel management, budgeting, service delivery, and facility oversight.
Key Responsibilities
The Director of Residential Program Services will be responsible for the following:
- Collaborating with the Interdisciplinary Clinical team to align treatment plans for residents.
- Maintaining the highest standards of safety and well-being for all residents.
- Providing comprehensive supervision to residence staff, including nursing and program specialists, while utilizing flexible scheduling for effective oversight.
- Conducting regular staff meetings to foster communication and address concerns.
- Managing the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of staff members.
- Adjusting work assignments based on staff availability and resident needs.
- Responding to emergencies and ensuring proper medical protocols are followed.
- Documenting staff performance and conducting individual supervisory meetings to discuss development and training needs.
- Establishing and enforcing facility rules and procedures to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Coordinating with community agencies to ensure residents have access to necessary programs and services.
- Arranging transportation for residents to various activities and appointments as needed.
Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 Annually + Comprehensive Benefits
Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following:
- A valid New York State Driver's License is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
- Effective interpersonal skills for interaction with staff, residents, and families.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Familiarity with computer systems and software.
- Understanding of equipment used by individuals receiving services.
- Analytical skills to address challenges and implement solutions.
Education and Experience
Candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of managerial experience, preferably in the developmental disabilities sector.
