Position Overview:


Are you interested in playing a crucial role in a CDC research initiative aimed at evaluating the efficacy of the flu vaccine? This role is designed for a temporary period during the flu season, focusing on enrolling patients experiencing respiratory illnesses.

We are seeking research personnel to support operations at Urgent Care facilities.

This position involves responsibilities at Urgent Care in Tacoma.

The Clinical Research Nurse will be tasked with reviewing EPIC schedules, screening candidates, obtaining consent, administering questionnaires, and collecting nasal and throat swabs from participants, along with conducting blood draws for a select group.

The ideal candidate should be self-driven and thrive in a dynamic environment. A keen attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team are essential. Experience in participant recruitment within a clinical context is advantageous.


Employs professional clinical expertise, education, and/or experience in the planning and execution of data collection for intricate clinical and health research trials.

Applies clinical knowledge and training for independent decision-making regarding data collection, trial interventions, and evaluations.

The responsibilities of a Clinical Research Nurse Specialist extend beyond those of a Clinical Research Specialist due to various factors:

a higher degree of independent clinical decision-making required; a greater level of specialized clinical knowledge necessary; significant contributions to areas such as project intervention materials, planning, study design, and research documentation; and a comprehensive advisory role on policies and methodologies.


Key Responsibilities:
Conducts clinical evaluations, interventions, and measurements necessitating professional clinical knowledge and training. Utilizes clinical expertise to assess participant responses and make informed decisions regarding patient safety and participation.

Provides professional guidance in the daily management of research activities. Develops intervention plans, data collection tools, operational manuals, trains new staff, prepares reports, and more. Plans, executes, and oversees participant safety and data quality control measures.

Assesses participant responses and makes independent clinical judgments regarding their reactions to interventions.

Contributes as a member of the research project team, participates in project meetings, identifies challenges, and proposes solutions.

May conduct medical record reviews requiring a professional clinical background for accurate interpretation and data collection.

May perform interviews or physical assessments necessitating a professional clinical background.

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience

A minimum of two (2) years of experience in performing professional functions relevant to the project.

Education


Certifications, licenses, or degrees as determined by the research project requirements, such as registered nurse, nurse practitioner, certified mental health therapist/specialist, MSW, pharmacist, physical therapist, certified health education specialist, clinical psychologist, or acupuncturist.

License, Certification, Registration

Additional Qualifications:
As applicable to the research project and field of study by the time of hire or transfer.

Experience with individual and/or group counseling and/or facilitation, along with relevant research experience.

Familiarity with research data collection standards and specialized clinical intervention/measurement/assessment skills as required by the projects.


A comprehensive understanding of regulatory policies governing industry practices, HIPAA regulations for clinical research, and knowledge of patient safety and quality control standards.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, organizational abilities, and interpersonal skills.

Continuous enhancement of skills and knowledge related to research.

Preferred Qualifications:
A Master's degree or PhD in a health-related discipline.
