Position OverviewThe Radiation Therapist plays a crucial role in delivering external beam radiation therapy as directed by the Radiation Oncology physician and Medical Radiation Physicist. This position requires a high level of expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong commitment to patient service.
Key Responsibilities- Safely and accurately administer the prescribed radiation therapy in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Monitor patients for any unusual physical or psychological responses, promptly reporting observations to the Clinical Nurse Specialist or Radiation Oncology physician.
- Coordinate with physicians, physics staff, and administrative personnel to maintain an efficient daily treatment schedule.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiation Technology program and eligible for board certification.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiation Therapy and certified as a Radiation Therapist in the State of Washington.
- Completion of AIDS certification for healthcare professionals (7 hours).
- Current CPR certification.
