Your Role and Responsibilities

In this position, you will serve as a design authority within an engineering discipline. Each day, you will engage in assignments across various projects of moderate complexity or segments of larger initiatives, ensuring cost-effectiveness. You will demonstrate your expertise by guaranteeing that tasks are completed in line with contract specifications, quality benchmarks, safety protocols, and cybersecurity standards. The role is designed to be performed remotely. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with clients to define and implement solutions while actively seeking feedback to foster improvements.
  • Developing work plans and cost projections for the project portfolio, ensuring quality and timely execution within budget constraints.
  • Coordinating with relevant departments to ensure that designs are properly manufactured, staged, tested, installed, and commissioned.
  • Mentoring engineering colleagues on converting conceptual designs into engineering documentation, sharing best practices, and lessons learned from previous projects.
  • Designing power systems for vessels, understanding and working with regulatory requirements, and reviewing and approving electrical design documentation. Experience in multi-drive systems and energy storage systems is essential.

Qualifications for the Role

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Power Electronics and Drives.
  • Proficiency in Control Engineering for Power.
  • Basic understanding of C/C++ programming and/or a willingness to develop this skill.
  • Experience in reviewing power system studies, multi-drive systems, and energy storage systems.
  • Candidates must possess valid work authorization to be employed by ABB in the US.
