As a Culinary Support Specialist, your primary responsibilities will encompass:

  • Supervising the preparation, packaging, and distribution of nutritious meals.
  • Managing cash transactions for reduced-price and full-paid meals as assigned.
  • Accounting for and reporting funds collected for meals for both students and adults.
  • Ensuring food preparation and dining areas consistently exceed state health standards.
  • Maintaining food service areas, equipment, and furnishings in a tidy, clean, and inviting condition.
  • Achieving high levels of customer satisfaction through student participation rates and feedback.
  • Promptly reporting significant repairs needed to the Culinary Director.
  • Immediately notifying the Culinary Director of any damage to school property.
  • Keeping an inventory of food, supplies, and equipment, making requisitions in advance to ensure smooth operations.
  • Demonstrating a basic understanding of and adherence to health regulations and school nutrition policies relevant to your duties.
  • Assuming additional responsibilities as assigned by the Culinary Director or School Leader.

Job Objective: To provide students with a safe, appealing, comfortable, clean, and efficient food service program.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated record of punctuality verified by references.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid ServSafe Certification.
  • Ability to read, follow instructions, and maintain accurate records.
  • Experience in food service within an educational environment.
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with school personnel and students in a diverse educational community.
