As a Nutrition Services Assistant, your key responsibilities will encompass:

  • Supervising the preparation, packaging, and distribution of meals for students.
  • Handling cash transactions for reduced-price and full-paid meals as assigned.
  • Accounting for and reporting funds collected for meals, as directed.
  • Ensuring food preparation and dining areas exceed state health standards.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and appeal in food service areas, equipment, and furnishings.
  • Achieving high levels of satisfaction through student participation and feedback.
  • Reporting major repairs needed to the Nutrition Services Director promptly.
  • Immediately notifying the Nutrition Services Director of any damage to school property.
  • Keeping an inventory of food, supplies, and equipment, and making timely requisitions to ensure smooth operations.
  • Demonstrating an understanding of and adherence to health regulations and nutrition policies relevant to the role.
  • Assuming additional responsibilities as assigned by the Nutrition Services Director or School Leader.

Job Objective: To deliver a safe, appealing, and efficient food service program for students.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated punctuality verified through references.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid ServSafe Certification.
  • Ability to read, follow instructions, and maintain accurate records.
  • Experience in food service within an educational context.
  • Experience working with a diverse student population.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff and students in a multicultural environment.
