Mechanical Engineering Project Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development, design, and management of all mechanical components related to LNG projects, including liquefaction, storage, truck transfer, and vaporization processes.
- Provide weekly updates to project managers regarding project status, budget, and timelines.
- Draft design, procurement, and operational specifications for various equipment and systems.
- Conduct field commissioning and troubleshooting during LNG plant startup and operational phases.
- Perform systematic analyses of piping stress, pressure vessel nozzles, vapor dispersions, and thermal radiation.
- Review calculations, equipment specifications, requisitions, and technical drawings.
- Maintain expertise in relevant codes and standards within the LNG sector (49CFR193, NFPA 59A, ASME B31.3, BPVC Section VIII).
- Prepare cost estimates and proposals in response to client inquiries.
- Develop detailed drawings for the fabrication and construction of plant piping and equipment systems, collaborating with civil, electrical, process, and controls teams to optimize designs.
- Willingness to travel to project sites approximately 15-20% of the time.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- Experience in the design of cryogenic, natural gas, petrochemical, oil, or power systems.
- Previous experience specifying pumps, compressors, valves, heat exchangers, heaters, coolers, boilers, or pressure vessels.
- Field experience in installing, operating, or troubleshooting mechanical equipment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, maintain self-discipline, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in MS Office and MS Project.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not mandatory.
- 6 to 8 years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on construction experience in field settings is advantageous.
