The Production Engineering Specialist will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and collaborate with a dedicated team of manufacturing engineers on various projects. Key Responsibilities
The Production Engineering Specialist's duties encompass, but are not limited to:
- Developing and maintaining detailed documentation for automation systems and processes.
- Assisting in the procurement and installation of equipment, along with other assigned responsibilities.
- Encouraging strong collaboration between production and engineering teams to relay recommendations and support design modifications.
- Designing fixtures and tooling, evaluating processes to boost efficiency, and resolving product and process challenges.
- Assessing manufacturing workflows to pinpoint opportunities for enhancement.
- Creating and implementing cost-reduction strategies and quality assurance systems.
- Ensuring that manufacturing processes and equipment fulfill capacity and capability standards.
- Researching and developing innovative processes, equipment, and products for future implementation.
Candidate Profile
The ideal Production Engineering Specialist will possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in supporting and designing automated systems.
- At least 2 years of practical experience in a production or assembly setting.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in programming and software development, which are essential for various aspects of the role.
- Proficient troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve existing system issues.
- Creative problem-solving abilities to address challenges as they arise.
- Familiarity with Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
