Position Summary:
Our corporate office is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst - Operations to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a keen attention to detail and a strong analytical mindset, enabling the execution of strategic procedures in collaboration with key stakeholders across various business units, particularly the Operations team. This role is vital for fostering successful processes and performance, serving as the primary analytical support for the Operations and Logistics teams. You will collaborate with corporate finance and accounting teams to facilitate monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting and budgeting processes, along with various ad hoc projects aimed at driving results.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough analysis of financial data to extract and define pertinent information; interpret data to assess past financial performance and project future costs and benefits.
  • Support the strategic business planning process by providing essential analysis on key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Utilize a comprehensive understanding of objectives, issues, and root causes to deliver insightful, fact-based data analysis for complex problem-solving.
  • Proactively assist in implementing a detailed Business Intelligence reporting plan for the operations and logistics teams, including automation of reporting, creation of dashboards, and integration of various data sources.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations partners to ensure accurate and timely analysis of company initiatives.
  • Lead the forecasting, budgeting, and closing processes, facilitating periodic reviews.
  • Analyze business activity costs and recommend budget adjustments or cost improvement measures.
  • Perform scenario, simulation, and sensitivity analyses as needed.
  • Design, enhance, and maintain complex models for detailed analyses.
  • Independently conduct variance analysis, summarizing key drivers, insights, and risks into concise high-level commentary.
  • Assist in developing business cases to support and guide decision-making.
  • Maintain processes to ensure data quality and accuracy.
  • Assess data, process, and reporting needs, define requirements, support testing efforts, and execute assigned implementation and support of corporate business systems.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Three to five years of relevant analytical experience is required.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficient in designing dynamic financial models and performing scenario analysis.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication, customer service, change management, and process improvement skills.
  • Expertise in analyzing financial and operational information to facilitate decision-making and recommend performance improvements.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including experience with large data sets for reporting and analysis.
  • Familiarity with VBA and SQL is preferred.
  • Experience in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work independently and synthesize disparate information into meaningful insights.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing requirements and priorities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
