**Job Summary**

Hub Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Operations Manager to lead our operational functions and drive business growth. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership to achieve Hub Group's value, mission, and vision statement.
  • Develop and implement plans to achieve revenue and operational profit targets.
  • Manage employee relations, including retention, satisfaction, and promotion of company culture.
  • Oversee warehouse staffing, including hiring, termination, discipline, and training.
  • Identify opportunities for business improvement and develop/implement plans to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Manage the process of tracking and publishing Key Performance Measures (KPMs) both internally and externally.
  • Ensure employee individual performance metrics are tracked and utilized to manage labor spend and evaluate employee performance.
  • Manage the Quarterly Business Review process with customers, including preparation and presentation of necessary information.
  • Oversee facility maintenance and ensure efficient maintenance spending.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, focusing on legendary customer service development.
  • Participate in all budgeting activities and monitor budget performance on a monthly basis.
  • Support proactive maintenance of all equipment and recommend capital expenditures to ensure efficient ongoing operations.
  • Implement and foster a safety culture, developing/implementing safe work policies and procedures.
  • Suggest improved efficiency through the understanding and use of advanced systems/automation.
  • Participate in formulating and administering company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or 5-10 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Operational background with a continuous improvement track record.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions, mathematical or diagram form, and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
