Position Summary
The Mortgage Operations Manager is tasked with supervising designated loan processing teams and enhancing operational workflows within the New Loan Submissions and Continuous Improvement sectors. This role involves generating analytical reports and metrics for management, supporting sales leadership, and ensuring compliance with mortgage regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the New Loan Submissions process for all first mortgage loans, ensuring the loan processing team maintains high standards of quality, training, and efficiency. Provide effective coaching, cross-training, performance assessments, and staff recognition. Foster a collaborative and communicative work environment with Sales and Mortgage Operations. Time: 40%
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiencies, implementing best practices, and consistently meeting high service standards. Monitor the effectiveness of systems, workflows, and reporting in support of mortgage lending. Time: 20%
- Oversee the performance of third-party vendors. Time: 15%
- Assist the Audit Department with necessary internal and external audits and examinations. Time: 10%
- Ensure accurate tracking and maintenance of expenses within the General Ledger, adhering to budgetary constraints. Time: 5%
- Engage in ongoing education to stay informed about mortgage operations, including RESPA, compliance with mortgage guidelines, and competitive service initiatives. Time: 5%
- Represent Mortgage Operations on cross-functional project teams, ensuring alignment with sales management and operational leadership. Time: 5%
Education
A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or four years of related experience is required.
Experience
In addition to the educational requirement:
- Preferred: One or more years of managerial experience.
- Required: Two years of experience in mortgage operations, including knowledge of State and Federal regulations and compliance.
- Comprehensive understanding of the real estate lending industry.

Position primarily involves sitting, with brief periods of standing and walking. Potential for eyestrain from detailed reports and computer screens. Workloads and deadlines may increase stress levels.
Working Conditions
Typically performed in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal exposure to extreme conditions. Moderate noise levels from standard office equipment. Long hours may be necessary to meet deadlines or attend special meetings. Some overnight travel may be required.
