National Director of Individual Philanthropy

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic National Director of Individual Philanthropy to lead our individual giving efforts and drive revenue growth for Lambda Legal. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy to engage and steward individual donors, resulting in increased giving and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a strategic plan to grow individual giving revenue, including major gifts, planned giving, and events fundraising.
- Lead a team of Regional Directors and Major Gifts Officers to achieve annual revenue goals and expand our donor base.
- Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer and other senior leaders to integrate individual giving with other fundraising efforts and ensure a cohesive fundraising strategy.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners to secure significant gifts and support for Lambda Legal's mission.
- Develop and implement a moves management system to track and advance major donors and prospects.
- Work closely with the Legacy Giving team to develop and implement a strategic plan for planned giving.
- Oversee the planning and execution of high-profile events to engage and steward individual donors.
- Partner with the National Director of Development & Marketing to ensure seamless integration of individual giving with other fundraising efforts.
- Provide strategic guidance and support to the Regional Directors and Major Gifts Officers to ensure they have the resources and tools needed to succeed.
- 10+ years of experience in major gift or planned gift fundraising, with at least 5-7 years of people management experience.
- Proven track record of growing individual giving revenue and expanding donor bases.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with donors, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve results.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high degree of emotional intelligence and adaptability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
- Experience with fundraising databases and software, including Raiser's Edge.
- Ability to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally.
