Position Overview

The Manager of Institutional Philanthropy at Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Inc. plays a vital role within the Institutional Advancement team. This position is primarily responsible for overseeing the annual gala, managing individual giving initiatives, and fostering donor engagement through communications and events. Key Responsibilities:

Event Management for Gala and Cultivation:

  • Oversee the production timeline for events and liaise with vendors
  • Manage communications with honorees and talent leading up to the event
  • Track the event budget and prepare financial reports
  • Supervise the creation of printed and digital materials, including invitations
  • Establish and manage the ticketing platform, among other tasks

Management of Donor Appeal Campaigns:

  • Develop and maintain an annual Moves Management system for donor engagement
  • Execute email campaigns for donors while monitoring income and expenditures
  • Conduct research on potential supporters and organize donor events

Board Administration:

  • Facilitate communication with the Board of Directors and coordinate meetings
  • Prepare agendas and materials for meetings, and attend Board sessions
  • Assist with compliance matters and prepare onboarding materials for new Board members
Qualifications:

EDUCATION: A Bachelor's Degree is required.

EXPERIENCE: 2 to 4 years of experience in nonprofit administration and fundraising.

TECHNICAL SKILLS: Proficiency in Salesforce, Asana, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite is required.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: Strong organizational, written, and interpersonal skills, along with experience in database management, the ability to multitask, and a keen attention to detail.

Supervisory Duties: Co-manage an intern within the Development department.

Work Environment: This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of three days in the office, with potential evening and weekend meetings.
