Position Overview:
We are in search of a highly skilled and innovative Senior Optical Systems Engineer to lead the advancement of state-of-the-art optical technologies and hardware systems for Meta's Mixed Reality (MR) initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
As the lead engineer, you will take charge of the design, development, and execution of pioneering optical solutions that propel technological progress and excellence.

Your main objective will be to meet performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness goals for MR hardware that enhances user experience.

Specific Duties Include:
- Directing cross-functional teams in the design and execution of innovative optical solutions for new optical architectures, employing advanced materials and methodologies.
- Identifying and nurturing optical technologies with the potential to transform the mixed reality (MR) optics landscape.
- Defining essential performance metrics, testing methodologies, and requirements for optical components and systems.
- Developing and sustaining technical roadmaps.
- Collaborating with stakeholders and leadership to shape product roadmaps.
- Keeping abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities.
- Managing budgets, resources, and partnerships with global suppliers.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Over 10 years of industry experience with a proven history of overseeing the complete product development cycle in Consumer Electronics.

Required Expertise:
- Proficiency in optical design software (Zemax, CodeV, OptiLayer, Macleod, etc.), geometrical optics, wave optics, and polarization optics.
- Knowledge of optical materials, coatings, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in imaging optics design and manufacturing, display optics, optical sensing, and system integration and testing.
- Strong technical leadership, communication, and project management capabilities.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
- An advanced degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- More than 10 years of industry experience with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or engineering management position.
- Experience in the Virtual Reality, Mixed Reality, and Augmented Reality sectors.
