Key Responsibilities:
As a principal engineer, you will oversee the design, development, and execution of pioneering optical solutions that enhance technological innovation and excellence.

Your main objective will be to meet performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness benchmarks for MR hardware that our users will appreciate in their daily experiences.

Specific Duties Include:
- Leading interdisciplinary teams in the creation and deployment of innovative optical solutions for new optical architectures, leveraging advanced materials and methodologies.
- Identifying, nurturing, and commercializing optical technologies with the potential to transform the mixed reality (MR) optics landscape.
- Defining essential performance metrics, testing methodologies, and requirements for optical components and systems.
- Developing and sustaining technical roadmaps.
- Collaborating with stakeholders and leadership to shape product strategies.
- Keeping abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape.
- Managing budgets, resources, and partnerships with global suppliers.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Over 10 years of industry experience with a demonstrated history of full product development cycles in Consumer Electronics.

Expertise Required:
- Proficiency in optical design software (Zemax, CodeV, OptiLayer, Macleod, etc.), geometrical optics, wave optics, and polarization optics.
- Knowledge of optical materials, coatings, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in imaging optics design and manufacturing, display optics, optical sensing, and optical system integration and testing.
- Strong technical leadership, communication, and project management abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of industry experience with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or engineering management capacity.
- Experience in the Virtual Reality, Mixed Reality, and Augmented Reality sectors.
