Job Responsibilities
  • Providing care at various post-acute facilities in your region
  • Administering medications accurately, adhering to the "5 rights" of medication administration: the right person, drug, dose, route, and time
  • Preparing and administering medications to residents and patients
  • Assisting residents with self-administration of medications and providing necessary reminders
  • Communicating any concerns to the supervising nurse
  • Maintaining records of vital signs and medication administration
  • Ensuring resident confidentiality
  • Supporting residents in completing activities of daily living (ADLs)
Qualifications and Skills
  • Current Virginia Licensed Medication Administrator certification
  • High school diploma or GED (minimum requirement)
  • Current state nursing assistant certification (CNA/LNA/STNA)
  • At least 1 year of experience in a nursing assistant role or related field
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Familiarity with pharmacological and medical terminology
