As a Nurse Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in leading and overseeing a team of nursing professionals who deliver care to our clients on a daily basis. Your leadership will directly influence the standard of care our clients receive from their entry into the facility until their discharge.

Key Qualifications:

Must possess a valid Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license in the State of Virginia. Must fulfill continuing education requirements as mandated by the Board of Nursing. Must hold certifications in CPR, First Aid, and BLS. One year of experience or familiarity in the field of substance abuse is preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:

Supervise the nursing staff, including medication management, admissions, and laboratory services, with oversight occurring at least monthly or more frequently based on client health needs. Create and manage schedules for the nursing team, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts within the facility. Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining accountability for medications in compliance with DEA and state regulations. Ensure the implementation and enforcement of the Diversion Control Plan within the facility. Collaborate in the formulation of policies and procedures regarding medication administration and self-administration. Administer and dispense medications under the guidance of the physician. Ensure adherence to the treatment plans established by the physician or Medical Director. Conduct and interpret Mantoux testing. Schedule client appointments for physician consultations, laboratory work, and referrals for additional care. Provide training to nursing staff on medical and health/safety protocols and the proper use of medical equipment. Evaluate client responses to treatment and medication, adjusting dosages as necessary. Participate in case conferences, providing professional insights. Document Nursing Progress Notes for all clients. Order medical supplies and maintain accurate inventory records as per regulations. Maintain comprehensive medical records, including individual charts, daily medication logs, dosage records, progress notes, and physician orders. Educate clients on methadone/buprenorphine and their potential side effects. Counsel clients on personal hygiene, abnormal lab results, HIV/AIDS testing, and other medical concerns. Discuss significant treatment changes or behavioral patterns with the physician and staff. Facilitate referrals for specialized care at local health centers and follow up on client attendance and treatment. Perform other related duties as assigned.
