POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Sales Associate engages in various customer service and sales activities, which include warmly welcoming and assisting all customers in a timely and friendly manner, handling products with care, and providing valuable information and guidance.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrates a strong dedication to exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive and productive shopping experience for every visitor.

  • Showcases products to customers effectively.
  • Restocks shelves according to merchandising standards as needed.
  • Maintains expertise in product knowledge through continuous training.
  • Stays informed about promotional sales; ensures accurate pricing and signage.
  • Assists with seasonal merchandise displays and transitions.
  • Ensures the sales area is clean, organized, and well-stocked.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
  • Delivers an outstanding experience for every customer by helping them make informed purchasing decisions through:
    • Identifying and assessing customer needs,
    • Providing tailored product recommendations,
    • Promoting programs such as membership options and in-store services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education Required: High School diploma or equivalent experience.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to perform calculations for discounts and provide change accurately.
  • Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with management, peers, and customers.
  • Ability to operate a computerized point-of-sale system.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Consistently stand and/or walk during shifts.
  • Occasionally climb or descend ladders, stairs, and ramps.
  • Regularly communicate with others to exchange information.
  • Occasionally perform repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Occasionally operate machinery or power tools.
  • Occasionally drive vehicles or operate heavy equipment.
  • Light physical work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds frequently, with occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds or more (team lifting as necessary).
  • Occasionally work in confined spaces.
  • Occasionally work in noisy environments.

INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT:

Performs tasks under general supervision, utilizing established procedures and innovative thinking. Makes choices from limited options to resolve issues. Occasionally exercises independent judgment to complete assignments and often suggests improvements to work processes and policies.
