Job Description

Job Summary:

IDS International is seeking a highly skilled Construction Surveillance Technician to support Department of State construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring construction activities, inspecting materials, and managing personnel in secure areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Access Control: Control access to construction sites and screen personnel to ensure only authorized individuals enter the site.
  • Material Inspection: Inspect materials and tools entering the site to ensure compliance with security protocols.
  • Secure Storage Area Management: Maintain control of the Secure Storage Area and its contents.
  • Construction Monitoring: Monitor and observe construction workers to ensure compliance with security protocols.
  • Equipment and Material Examination: Ensure all equipment, materials, and furnishings are x-rayed and examined before use in secure areas.
  • Random Selection and Procurement: Assist the Site Security Manager with random selection and procurement of materials for construction and installation in secure areas.
  • Incident Reporting: Report all security-related incidents and anomalies to the Site Security Manager.

Requirements:

  • Security Clearance: Hold an active Top Secret Clearance.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in construction security surveillance, technical surveillance counter measures, industrial or government security involving counterintelligence, or construction quality assurance.
  • Analysis and Recognition: Be capable of analyzing designs and blueprints and recognizing the architect's intended use.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to walk up and down eight floors of stairs repeatedly during the workday.
  • Language Skills: Read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Medical and Physical Fitness: Meet certain medical and physical fitness requirements and be able to deploy to remote locations with all medications for up to one year.
  • Travel: Hold an active passport.

Preferred Qualification: Hold an active CST DoS certification or equivalent training.
