We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pipe Installation Specialist to join our team at Jr. Davis Construction Company, Inc. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for performing a variety of manual construction tasks involving roads, highways, and heavy construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy/highway construction projects, including assisting with pipe installation, aligning and positioning pipes, and guiding equipment operators.
- Load, unload, or distribute materials, machinery, or tools to and from designated locations, and maintain a clean work area by disposing of trash and debris properly.
- Operate a variety of power and hand tools, including air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, mechanical hoists, and surveying equipment.
- Verify installation using lasers and grade rods, and perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
- Communicate effectively with jobsite supervisors and co-workers, and promote and adhere to the company's safety program.
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 2 years recent experience working as a Tailman (pipe installation) or equivalent experience
- Active Driver's license
This position requires regular work in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and humidity. You will frequently work near heavy equipment and moving mechanical parts, and be exposed to wet or humid conditions and vibration.
Work may involve exposure to a variety of substances found on construction sites, such as oil, grease, gasoline, concrete, and diesel fuel. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
