Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Test Engineer to lead our testing and evaluation initiatives. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure the effectiveness and reliability of our systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Level 1 tasks based on your technical expertise and prior testing experience.
  • Conduct in-depth research and apply knowledge of governmental testing and evaluation principles to facilitate T&E activities.
  • Plan and execute comprehensive performance analyses.
  • Review acquisition strategies to align T&E schedules with decision-making requirements.
  • Identify and analyze performance risk areas to guide T&E planning.
  • Specify and validate modeling and simulation techniques for T&E applications.
  • Utilize statistical analysis to assess variations in performance and enhance confidence in performance predictions.
  • Select and develop appropriate analytical tools for testing.
  • Implement evaluation plans based on data gathered from testing activities.
  • Design and execute performance data collection strategies.
  • Coordinate program and event-level testing to gather necessary data and synchronize T&E events with critical decision points.
  • Establish and maintain data and configuration management systems.
  • Support data authentication processes and adhere to discrepancy reporting protocols.
  • Evaluate operational and system performance requirements to prioritize T&E objectives.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering teams to leverage functional analysis and initial performance risk assessments.
  • Assess operational environments to determine evaluation focus and coordinate user involvement in T&E.
  • Plan tailored performance estimation and analysis for system effectiveness and suitability metrics.
  • Design surveys to gather insights from subject matter experts and user performance assessments.
  • Engage in T&E working groups for effective coordination of evaluation strategies.
  • Produce comprehensive evaluation plans, analysis frameworks, data requirements, and risk assessments.
  • Develop data sampling strategies to optimize resource allocation and minimize testing uncertainties.
  • Coordinate and calibrate instrumentation and data management tools.
  • Ensure readiness for testing events, including participant training and compliance with security and privacy regulations.
  • Execute testing and data collection according to established plans.
  • Generate associated test plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Provide technical direction for Level 1 tasks to junior engineers.
  • Collaborate with government sponsors to ensure effective task implementation.
  • Stay informed about evolving standards relevant to system development.
  • Lead T&E tasks and serve as the primary liaison for contract coordination.
  • Communicate issues and solutions effectively to management.
  • Maintain team independence to support objective government oversight.
  • Manage T&E resources and ensure quality assurance in testing processes.
  • Integrate evaluation and testing tasks for cohesive project execution.
  • Adapt to program changes and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of eight years of experience in testing and evaluation for similar programs.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Math, Science, Engineering, or Statistics.
  • Four additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience in executing testing and data collection plans.
  • Ability to produce detailed test plans and reports.
  • Experience in Agile software development environments.
  • Proficient in generating technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
