Position: Test Engineer III - CSFC

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in discussions regarding system requirements and participate in Engineering Design Reviews to influence system design and testing methodologies.
  • Examine technical architecture documents, user documentation, product specifications, and requirements; identify discrepancies and propose amendments.
  • Assess resource and equipment requirements for system integration and testing; provide labor and scheduling estimates for product support; prioritize tasks to align with customer timelines.
  • Create and implement systems and software testing procedures, develop test plans, and formulate test cases based on requirements and design documentation.
  • Participate in system installation and configuration; troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered during system setup and testing phases.
  • Conduct systems tests to validate design and requirements implementation, including functional, regression, and scenario-based testing.
  • Evaluate compliance with requirements, design objectives, security protocols, system performance, and usability; identify and analyze system and software defects.
  • Document hardware and software malfunctions and defects using a bug tracking system; communicate defects to developers; monitor, test, and report on defect resolution.
  • Prepare detailed test reports that document test outcomes and system anomalies; provide recommendations for end-user suitability; manage the approval process for test reports.
  • Facilitate enhanced developmental test events involving end-user participation.
  • Collaborate with government personnel on-site to ensure program success.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in networking and routing practices and components.
  • Experience with virtualization software and management.
  • Familiarity with qtest software.
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems and scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Batch).
  • Prior experience in a test engineering role.
  • Able to design test processes for diverse products and architectures.
  • Capable of producing clear and efficient test plans, procedures, and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8570 certification (IAT Level II).
  • TS/SCI DoD clearance.
  • Military training is a plus.

Clearance Requirement: Minimal secret clearance.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related scientific or technical field.
  • 4-9 years of relevant work experience.
  • A degree may be substituted for 4 years of directly related experience.

Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel up to 33% domestically and internationally.
