Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Test Engineer to contribute to our testing and evaluation efforts. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in executing testing protocols and ensuring data integrity throughout the evaluation process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Level 1 testing tasks based on prior experience and technical training.
  • Conduct thorough research and apply knowledge of government testing and evaluation methodologies to facilitate T&E activities.
  • Plan and execute comprehensive performance analyses.
  • Review acquisition strategies to ensure alignment with T&E schedules and decision-maker requirements.
  • Identify and analyze performance risk areas to guide T&E planning.
  • Specify and validate modeling and simulation techniques for effective T&E application.
  • Utilize statistical analysis to assess variations in performance and establish confidence in performance estimates.
  • Select and develop appropriate analytical tools for evaluation purposes.
  • Implement the evaluation plan based on data gathered from testing activities.
  • Design and execute performance data collection strategies.
  • Coordinate program and event-level testing to gather necessary data and synchronize T&E events with key decision points.
  • Establish and maintain data and configuration management systems.
  • Support data authentication processes and adhere to discrepancy reporting protocols.
  • Evaluate operational and system performance requirements to prioritize T&E objectives.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering teams to leverage functional analysis and initial performance risk assessments.
  • Assess operational environments for effective scenario selection and user participation in T&E.
  • Plan risk-adjusted performance estimation and analysis for system effectiveness and suitability metrics.
  • Design surveys to evaluate expert input and user performance assessments.
  • Engage in T&E working-level integrated product teams for coordinated evaluation planning.
  • Generate evaluation plans, analysis plans, data requirements, risk assessments, and evaluation reports.
  • Develop data sampling strategies to optimize information collection and manage testing uncertainties.
  • Coordinate and calibrate instrumentation and data management tools.
  • Ensure test readiness through participant training and compliance with security and privacy regulations.
  • Execute testing and data collection according to established plans.
  • Produce relevant test plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Provide technical direction for Level 1 tasks to junior engineers.
  • Work closely with government sponsors to ensure effective task implementation.
  • Stay informed on evolving standards relevant to system development.
  • Lead T&E tasks and serve as the primary liaison for contract coordination.
  • Communicate challenges and solutions to management as needed.
  • Maintain team independence to support objective risk management.
  • Oversee T&E resources and ensure quality assurance in testing processes.
  • Integrate evaluation and testing tasks for comprehensive outcomes.
  • Drive innovation in response to program changes and manage associated risks.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of eight years of experience in testing and evaluation within similar programs.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Math, Science, Engineering, or Statistics.
  • Four additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience in executing testing and data collection.
  • Ability to produce comprehensive test plans and documentation.
  • Experience in Agile software development environments.
  • Proficient in generating technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
