Lead Engineering Manager, Application Security

We are looking for a seasoned and strategic leader in Application and Product Security to join our team as a Lead Engineering Manager.

As an experienced security professional, you will take charge of the security initiatives for CLEAR's software applications and products, safeguarding the integrity and confidentiality of our customers' information.

Your expertise will be crucial in identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities, formulating and executing secure design and development methodologies, and working alongside cross-functional teams to ensure the security of our offerings.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, nurture, and advance security engineering talent by providing career development support, constructive feedback, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee the Secure Design and Implementation function, ensuring that CLEAR's products are architected and executed with security as a priority.
  • Develop and sustain a comprehensive understanding of CLEAR's security requirements and industry-leading practices.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams, including Engineering, Product, and Operations, to guarantee secure design and execution of products.
  • Lead a team of security engineers dedicated to protecting CLEAR's products.
  • Establish and uphold secure software development lifecycle processes and protocols.
  • Stay informed about emerging security threats and technologies, applying this knowledge to enhance CLEAR's security framework.

Qualifications:
  • Possess practical knowledge of all facets of software engineering, including coding, maintenance, architecture, and design, with a focus on integrating security.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with cloud-native applications and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Solid understanding of contemporary programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, Python, React).
  • Proven experience leading teams in secure software development, encompassing design, architecture, and implementation.
  • Experience managing multiple security teams, including security engineers and architects.
  • Familiarity with modern security technologies and practices, including threat modeling, vulnerability management, and secure coding.
  • Able to build, manage, and collaborate with multiple teams to achieve defined security objectives.
  • Curious about security trends and technologies, committed to continuous learning and professional growth.

The base salary range for this position is $200,000 - $240,000, based on skill levels and experience.

This salary range represents the low and high end of CLEAR's compensation framework for this role. Salaries may vary based on factors such as location, education, skills, experience, and performance.

The listed range is just one aspect of CLEAR's overall compensation package for employees, which may also include annual bonuses, commissions, and Restricted Stock Units.
