As an Engineering Manager for the Fabric RPC team, you will be at the forefront of enhancing the developer experience within Datadog's infrastructure. This team plays a vital role in delivering efficient and user-friendly data plane components that facilitate seamless service-to-service communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a talented group of engineers dedicated to the creation and upkeep of Datadog's RPC libraries and services.
- Spearhead the development of operational tools that empower developers with telemetry, diagnostics, and debugging capabilities.
- Enhance the reliability of service communication by innovating and promoting the adoption of advanced dataplane features, including subsetting and client-side load balancing with load reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between the Fabric RPC team's objectives and Datadog's strategic vision.
Candidate Profile:
- Possess a BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience in leading engineering teams, particularly in networking, RPC, or service mesh environments.
