Your role will involve close collaboration with the Software Engineering and Product teams on the design, architecture, and execution of new systems and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Integrate within an Engineering and Product team to gain a comprehensive understanding of the product and implement observability across all critical processes.
- Develop and execute load testing scenarios to ascertain the limits and scalability factors of our services and systems.
- Contribute to the architecture and design of new services and systems, ensuring the implementation of highly reliable and scalable solutions.
- Collaborate closely with Infrastructure, Developer Experience, Networking, and other teams to meet Product Engineering requirements in future roadmaps and technical implementations.
- Establish and lead practices such as game days, chaos engineering, and failure analysis.
- Formulate long-term capacity plans with a focus on reliability and cost-effectiveness.
Who You Are:
- A software engineer with experience as an embedded Site Reliability Engineer.
- Proficient in writing production-quality software in a contemporary programming language, such as Java.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems principles (e.g., CAP theorem), microservices architecture, and distributed tracing.
- Familiarity with modern observability tools such as Datadog.
- Experience with performance debugging tools and methodologies, including the ability to interpret flame graphs.
- A strong product and user-centric perspective.
- A commitment to continuous improvement of systems and environments.

The salary range for this position is $175,000 - $215,000, based on skills and experience.This salary range reflects the low and high end of CLEAR's compensation for this role.
Compensation may vary based on factors such as location, education, skills, experience, and performance.
