Key Responsibilities

As a Civil Engineering Transportation Associate, you will be expected to:
  • Collaborate as part of a design team to develop various aspects of roadway and highway design in accordance with local and AASHTO standards, including horizontal and vertical alignment, intersection design, sight distance analysis, interchange configuration, roadway drainage, and right-of-way documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates for projects of varying sizes and complexities.
  • Create plans such as Roadway Sections, Alignment/Right of Way Plans, Temporary Erosion Control Plans, Site Preparation Plans, Roadway Profiles, Drainage Plans and Profiles, Utility Plans, Paving, Pavement Marking Plans, Signing Plans, and Traffic Control Plans.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CAD software (MicroStation Version 8) along with other design tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A commitment to actively participating in our employee-owned culture.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CAD software (MicroStation; OpenRoads Designer; AutoCAD; Civil3D) and other design applications.
  • Candidates without EIT certification will be designated as Transportation Designers/Coordinators and are expected to obtain EIT for career advancement.
