Job Overview

Martin/Martin, Inc. is looking for a motivated individual to fill an entry-level role within our Civil Engineering department. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in civil design projects across various locations, enhancing your professional engineering skills both in the office and in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate under the guidance of a licensed engineer to execute structural and civil design calculations.
  • Create detailed project documentation utilizing advanced computer design and graphics software.
  • Support the Project Manager with construction administration duties, including reviewing shop drawings and conducting field observations.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development by researching relevant codes, asking insightful questions, and attending technical training.
  • Work closely with fellow Martin/Martin staff to deliver outstanding engineering solutions for our clients.
  • Develop essential engineering skills in preparation for obtaining Professional Engineer licensure.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (Master's degree can count as 1 year).
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.

Preferred:

  • Professional demeanor and ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Prior experience in engineering or construction environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
  • Experience following a project from initial design through to construction completion.
  • Proficiency in computer programs for analysis, graphics, and design.
  • Ability to meet deadlines set by supervisors.
  • Progressing skills in client-focused communication.
  • Active participation in professional or technical organizations.
  • Growing knowledge in assembling project documentation.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Increasing familiarity with common analysis and design practices, building codes, and jurisdictional requirements.
