Position Overview

Bohannan Huston is on the lookout for a dedicated Junior Civil Engineer to become part of our Surface Water Engineering Team. This role is based in our Albuquerque, NM office and is designed for recent graduates or those nearing graduation.

As an Engineer in Training (EI), you will collaborate within a team to contribute to various projects focusing on stormwater management and sustainable infrastructure. Your responsibilities may encompass a range of tasks, including:
  • Conducting hydrologic and hydraulic assessments.
  • Developing models and design documentation.
  • Performing drafting and quantity take-offs.
  • Estimating construction costs and preparing project reports.

Candidate Profile
  • You hold or are close to obtaining a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0, demonstrating a strong commitment to academic excellence and leadership.
  • You possess an EI certification.
  • You are a proactive individual with 0-4 years of experience in surface water management, planning, and design.
  • Familiarity with software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, ESRI ArcGIS, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and EPA SWMM is highly desirable.
  • You have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and are attentive, professional, and precise in your interactions.
  • You are organized, detail-oriented, and focused on customer satisfaction.
  • You have a passion for learning and an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • You are open to feedback and continuously seek ways to enhance your work processes.
  • You are enthusiastic about mastering various engineering technologies to improve efficiency.
