GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating all lines of coverage submitted, ensuring appropriate risk assessment and pricing strategies are employed to meet profitability and growth targets.

Timeliness in processing submissions is crucial to our operational success.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess applications for compliance with program criteria.
  • Escalate accounts to the Carrier when limits of authority are exceeded.
  • Coordinate with Underwriting Assistants for necessary documentation and clearance.
  • Analyze underwriting reports generated by automated systems (risk assessment tools, specific rate evaluations, etc.).
  • Negotiate terms and pricing based on unique risk factors.
  • Implement coverage limitations and deductible options as required.
  • Prepare and present quotes to brokers with comprehensive documentation.
  • Stay informed on company updates and adhere to underwriting guidelines.
  • Maintain thorough documentation in accordance with company policies.
  • Process policy issuance and ensure compliance with invoicing protocols.
  • Handle endorsement approvals and related invoicing.
  • Evaluate accounts for renewal profitability and manage quotes within set timelines.
  • Ensure all submissions are sent to compliance for necessary reviews.
  • Manage Surplus Lines Tax filings as mandated.
