Position Summary
The Lead Operations Analyst will oversee and enhance customer service for both inbound and outbound logistics concerning the transportation of automotive components for U.S. manufacturing facilities (related vendors for Hyundai/Kia and suppliers) involving container movements.
Key Responsibilities
- Inbound & Outbound Operations Management
- Supervise daily transactions and customer service - Oversee ocean inbound container movements from the point of origin.
- Address any customs issues and line holds on containers, resolving them before arrival at the port.
- Ensure timely preparation of all necessary documentation to meet delivery timelines.
- Customer Coordination
- Maintain an updated list of approved carriers and route guides as per management directives, implementing an efficient cost-effective container transport system.
- Comprehend customer requirements thoroughly and adjust daily operations to accommodate changes in container delivery schedules.
- Provide container tracking reports to customers on a weekly or daily basis as requested.
- Cost Management
- Calculate and communicate any fees incurred for containers, including demurrage, detention, chassis, and storage, advising customers promptly.
- Inform customers in advance about potential charges related to container movements.
- Coordinate with the Accounting department to ensure timely invoicing of customers for incurred charges.
- Urgent Container Movement Oversight
- Facilitate urgent container movements, including late gate and weekend operations at the port, coordinating with trucking companies for timely deliveries to customer warehouses.
- Be available on-call 24/7 for urgent container movement requirements.
- Keep customers updated on container status from departure at the port to arrival at their warehouse, including estimated arrival times and current locations.
- Ensure daily entry of container movements in the Genisys system.
- Statistical Reporting
- Prepare and present container inbound movement reports (including transit times and daily, weekly, or monthly container movements) to upper management as needed.
- Annual Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000

Qualifications
Skills Required
- Strong sense of urgency, independent judgment, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication, planning, prioritization, and follow-up skills.
- Proficient in computer applications.
- Intermediate-level proficiency in MS Excel is essential.
- Familiarity with MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS PowerPoint is highly desirable.
- Understanding of general freight forwarding terminology and standards, including incoterms.
- Basic knowledge of accounting functions and information retrieval.
- Self-motivated individual capable of working with minimal supervision.
- High School Diploma or Associate's Degree required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Freight Forwarding, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management required.
- Ability to sit for extended periods in front of a desk and/or computer.
- Repetitive hand use for typing and writing.
- Ability to stand and walk as needed.
Work Environment
